Kerala Strikers - Kerala Celebrity Cricket Leagu Team

The player who surprised all among the Kerala Strikers team was none other than Mohanlal, says the coach
Chandrasenan Nair, the coach of Kerala Strikers, says he is quite happy with the performance of his team during the practicesessions. "We have strong players like Indrajithand Bala who are good batsmen and therefore will be opening the matches," he says. Not far behind are Unni Mukundan, Rajeev Pillai, Vivek Balan and Asif Ali who are also good batsmen, according to the coach.

Well, this is not to say that the others are poor players! Kunchacko Boban, Saiju Kurup, Nikhil, Prajod Kalabhavan and Munna are all-rounders, he points out. Prithviraj has proved himself to be as good a player as Indrajith but he hasn't been able to make it to the practice matches as of now.
But the one who has surprised all, he reveals, is not any of the young guns but the captain himself, Mohanlal! "I was amazed at his bowling skills. One would think otherwise considering his physique and the fact that he hasn't played after college days, but he is quite fit. He also has the presence of mind required for a good player. Lal is more of a bowler than batsman and an excellent fielder as well. In fact he has set an example to the rest in stressing on the importance of fielding.
Speaking about the opponents, the coach said that most of the other teams have already played in the first season but he is confident about Kerala Strikers. "Since most players are involved in shoots, the practice sessions are conducted only during the weekends. But soon we will start on special diets and physical and mental training for them to equip them to stay cool and play with concentration before a 35,000 strong crowd. My job is to cut short the distance between a cricketer and a film personality but they have made my job easier with their support and team spirit."
Well, let's wait and watch!
KOCHI: When Priyadarshan offered advice to the 14-odd Malayalam film stars in Kochi on Tuesday, there were no lights or cameras around. But, the actors were all ears. Priyan has been advising these stars, the members of Amma's Kerala Strikers cricket team, owned by his wife Lissie, for quite some time now.
The team had been practising at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium on Tuesday when Priyan paid a surprise visit. As Priyadarshan got off from his black Jaguar outside the stadium, the members of the team ran towards him and flanked him, as if to congratulate a bowler who had picked up a crucial wicket in a decisive match.
